The lack of appropriate training structures in the digital creative industry is detrimental to the professionalization of women artists.

This factor contributes to the isolation of women artists and makes it difficult to make a living from their passion and their art. Aware of this problem, and thanks to UNESCO, Africulturban &Positive Planet are providing a response through the Digit’ELLES project

Enable women artists to access professional empowerment

Despite the profusion of forms of expression of culture in Senegal, many structural constraints still hinder the professionalization of women artists.

They weigh on the promotion of cultural diversity and hinder the growth of the cultural industry.

Among these constraints, we can note:

  •  a lack of trainers
  • a lack of appropriate training structures and an inadequacy of training types available

These barriers block access to professional training adapted to new information technologies and the laws of the market. Thus difficulties in the professional practice of the sector appear as the lack of qualified employees especially in the production and artistic promotion.

At the same time, the opacity and inefficiency of the information and artistic funding channels create a lack of awareness of accessible funding allocation slots.

All these factors contribute to the isolation of women artists and the weakness of their promotional strategy.

Aware of this problem, and thanks to UNESCO, Africulturban and Positive Planet International provide their response through the Digit'ELLES project
